Should organizations be concerned with internal security threats? Why? (e-business)
The internal threat can be seen as the risk which is exposed to the business organization in which the internal member of the company can use the weak links in the information system of the business to cause serious damage or to steal the valuable information of the business. These types of threats are quite serious for the organizations as the internal members are expected as the most trusted individuals and thus they are provided the different types of exclusive authority to access the vital and important information and data related to the organization. They have direct access to the vital data and thus they are more serious threats to the organization as they perform their task of stealing valuable data in a disguised manner that is not easy to be tracked down.
The different types of methods such as sending information through social media platforms, e-mail. CD-ROM, USB data stick, and so on are used for the data and IS breach as these types of devices and methods are commonly used for internal data sharing and distribution. Looking at all these facts, it can be said that the organizations must be having greater sensitivity towards internal security threats.
