Eminem was born on October 17, 1972 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was abandoned by his father when he was 18 months old and he was raised solely by his mother, who was then just 15 years old. They constantly moved between different cities, living in public housing systems that lead him to constantly change schools in tough urban neighbourhoods, that were hostile to new (or white) faces. He was thus an outsider during his childhood, and the lack of stability lead to a constant struggle to establish an identity. He was subject to violent acts of bullying, pushing him towards being a very reclusive child.

Münchausen Syndrome is a type of a facititious disorder wherein individuals feign physical and psychological illness and trauma in order to gain attention and sympathy from others. On the other hand, Münchausen by proxy occurs when a caregiver or spouse fabricates or exaggerates symptoms of those they are taking care of, with the similar objective of gaining attention and sympathy from other individuals.
