Do you feel the high crime rate in the United States is due to the availability of guns or due to a weakness in the justice system? Discuss your reasons in 4 – 5 paragraphs.
The blame of high crime rate cannot be entirely pushed onto one of these factors, but is a result owing to the melange of both these facets. Politics has a huge part to play as to why more restricts aren't imposed unto gun policies due to the possible vitriol that the justice system could be subjected to due to the decisions, if ever made. This is due to the contradictions that are so profusely prevalent amongst the Americans with respect to this particular policy.
Americans, on large, do believe in restrictions that need to be imposed on gun policies, but whenever this matter is brought afore in the light of some recent events and incidents with reference to mass shootings, the politicians and pundits spin the the entire angle and polarize the masses by twisting and contorting words and posing them as, "They want to take away you rights, and the right to protect yourself," or the likes.
Propaganda and newsjacking are the new linguistic additions within American politics. America is one of the few countries wherein the right to bear arms is constitutionally protected. Homicides that are linked with guns are he highest in America most the most developed countries. The availability, the easy availability that too, of guns is also the reason for the deplorable cause of high crime rate along with the inability to amend laws in context of gun policies.
After analysis from a research conducted by center for disease control and prevention it was found that the numbers indicate in favor of high crime rate in states where there is burgeoning use of guns owing to gun use. And empirical evidence also suggests that tighter restriction on gun laws mean lesser gun related crimes.
