Is it ethical for a company to sell water, which is basically all the same, in a way that commands such high prices?
Whenever we travel anywhere we see that the packaged drinking water is sold in trains, buses, tourist places etc. it is also called mineral water. Our natural water is so contaminated that we do not dare to drink this water. Many companies sell water by purifying it in a packaged bottle. Packaged water is sold at very high prices. Natural water costs very less but packing and advertising expenses make it costlier. It is packed in plastic bottles because plastic bottles are very cheap.
If we consider that companies provide us mineral water by purifying it and avail us pure water then it can be called ethical but many reasons are against it. Companies earn huge profits by this business because natural water is not costly and they packed it in plastic bottle which is very cheap. Natural water is pure in nature but companies, factories make it polluted by air pollution and water pollution so they are responsible for polluted water. If they control their activities then we do not need of packaged water. Companies should avail this water at a lower profit margin because water is for all. There is no life without water. So companies should keep these points in mind so that they can make this ethical.
