An underground storage tank (UST) containing tricholoroethane has ruptured and contaminated the subsurface. The plume extends a distance of 390 feet (length) and 130 feet wide at this distance. The depth of the plume is 10 feet and the seasonal high groundwater table is at a depth of 5 feet. Provide a preliminary design and layout of a SVE system.
Determine:
a. Required no of extraction wells and their layout
b. Volumetric capacity in CFM and operating pressure of blower. c. How can you improve removal efficiency?
