analogy for photosynthesis
analogy for fermentation
• Analogy is the comparison between one thing with another, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification . It is a correspondence or partial symmetry.
1. The analogy for photosynthesis : Money put into a savings account. It is said so because to enable 'autotrophs' (plants) to make food they have to be able to trap energy from sunlight and convert it into chemical forms like glucose (a simple sugar) . Energy produced by photosynthesis is like Money put into a savings account for future needs. Animals and other ' heterotrophs' must be able to 'cash in' and withdraw these food savings when they need them. When they need the energy they must have access to energy.
2. Analogy for fermentation : cooking with microbes and Inefficient burning. It is said so because,
Fermentation is like cooking with microbes ,as just gives us chefs a whole new world to explore and learn in. Catching spores from air and building cultures is like foraging and gardening on a microscopic level.
Fermentation is like inefficient burning results in lower energy release, cellular respiration could release something like 42 ATPs . Fermentation releases a fraction of that like 2 ATP.
