What should be included on spreadsheets and in accounts payable reports that are prepared for ratification by management? List seven features.
Today, spreadsheet software is practically a required part of
any collection of office software, and it remains as useful now as
it was in the beginning. Spread sheet also consists of grids, rows,
columns, formulas, commands, text manipulation, printing, title
bar, menu bar etc.,
Virtual design:-
Most people process data most easily when it is presented visually,
rather than simply existing as a set of hypothetical numbers in the
mind. Spreadsheets allow you to lay figures out on a grid,
calculating and manipulating them visually.
Automatic calculations:-
This is done in a simple and intuitive manner; to perform a
calculation with two different cells on the spreadsheet, simply
click a cell, press a key for a mathematical operator such as the
"+" sign and click the second cell.
Dynamic Updates:-
Because the value displayed in the cell is based on the values in
two other cells, the cell dynamically updates when you change
either of the referenced cells. This allows you to test different
scenarios by changing the cost of an item, or the percentage of
profit. Any time you base the value of one cell on the value of
other cells, the value of one cell updates automatically when the
other is changed.
Analysis of Data:-
Most spreadsheet software can automatically create graphs and
charts from your data, giving you different ways of comparing and
analyzing information. These visual representations can also be
printed and emailed, or exported into slide shows for
presentations.
Reports in account payable:-
Reports within accounts payable are time sensitive in that the
financial records only apply to specific periods of time. These
time periods can vary depending on the frequency a business owner
pays debts and other financial obligations. Usually, reports within
accounts payable update monthly to reflect new payments made on
recurring debts. These payments apply to larger debts tied to
private loans or costs of doing business, including monthly utility
payments, private loan payments and mortgage or rent. Accounts
payable can also include one-time payments made for purchases of
assets, including equipment, replacement parts and advertising
fees.
Features of spread sheet:-
1)A spreadsheet allows user to enter and calculate
numerical data.
2)Speadsheet greatly increases productivity for anyone who needs to
manage receipts, create ‘budgets’ generate financial reports.
3)It combines the features of a general ledger with the flexibility of powerful data analysis and reporting function.
4) It offers integral charting/graphic add database
operation.
5) It had keyboard driven pop ups menus as well as key commands
making it fast to operate.
6) It uses Macro to produce graphs and charts.
7)It offers graphical tools, pivot tables and chart.
8)It helps to manage data in various formats, thus increasing
productivity.
