Why is a “drug-free society” impossible to achieve?
A "drug-free society" is nearly impossible to achieve. This is owing to a larger dependence of the society on drugs than ever before. Even with external help and therapy treatment programmes, giving up drugs is not easy and there are only a fraction of people who are able to give up this habit of abuse. This is also owing to the fact that prescription drugs are so widely available and therefore the supply cannot be cut off compltely even on strict disruption of the drug distribution system. This is one of the most important reasons why a "drug-free society" is impossible to achieve.
