Match the rules for rejecting H0 at the right to the following tests
For any test hypothesis, ANOVA, or Chi Squared, this rule for rejecting H0 always applies
One-tail test with lower reject region
One-tail test with upper reject region
Two-tail test with lower and upper reject regions
Key:
1 test statistic > positive critical value
2 test statistic < negative critical value
3 test statistic outside interval (negative critical value, positive critical value)
4 pvalue <
(A) For any test hypothesis, ANOVA, or Chi Squared, this rule for rejecting H0 always applies : 4 pvalue <
For all hypothesis tests, whenever p value is less than alpha level,we reject null hypothesis
(B) One-tail test with lower reject region:2 test statistic < negative critical value
We reject Ho only when test statistic is less than critical value. So, rejection region is z < z critical
(C) One-tail test with upper reject region: 1 test statistic > positive critical value
We reject Ho only when test statistic is more than critical value. So, rejection region is z > z critical
(D) Two-tail test with lower and upper reject regions: 3 test statistic outside interval (negative critical value, positive critical value)
We reject Ho only when test statistic is either less than negative critical value or more than positive critical value. So, rejection region is either z < -z critical or z > +z critical
