DNA fingerprinting is a method used to identify living things based on samples of their DNA. Instead of looking at the whole sequence of a person's DNA, these techniques look at the presence or absence of common markers that can be quickly and easily identified.

* Worldwide DNA fingerprinting is used as :

  • To Match tissues of organ donors with those of people who need transplants.

  • Identification of diseases that are passed down through your family.

  • For Helping to find cures for those diseases, called hereditary conditions. Also fingerprint identification is used forensically to identify victims of crimes and place suspects at crime scenes. ... The uniqueness of fingerprints makes it possible to use prints from a crime scene to either connect a suspect to the scene or eliminate a suspect from consideration.
