There is a growing trend in the fight against racial inequality in the business world. Do you believe that Porsche should continue to challenge the systemic barriers to opportunity and dignity that exist for communities of color?

a. Give a reason that can support this argument.

b. Give a reason that opposes this argument.

Solutions

Expert Solution

a)

Porsche should continue to challenge the discrimination against color because it sends the message out in public that Porsche doesn't believe in discrimination, and for them, every customer bear the same attention. this will not only serve as a social value but also, economic value since more people will attract towards Porsche then their competitors since people will generalize patriotism with Porsche and stand with it as a bigger community. Porsche shall enjoy the benefit of people's Car and image of luxury car will eventually become the Car of need. so Porsche should stand against discrimination based on color

b)

Porsche should not continue their campaign against the skin discrimination since satisfying the need of one community they might end up losing the market share from the other community. this campaign might or might not increase their sales among the one where revenues doesn't come from but what is cash cow is the community is the one against them they are standing against, recently there has been rumor that Porsche increase emphasis on producing Black color cars so raise the voice against the odds but what about the people wanting other colors. in such a scenario there can be a huge uncertainty regarding the upcoming sales and image of being luxury, royalty , expensive taste of consumers might become the image of normal boring cars.

so here is the decision in the hands of Porsche to serve the social need but without compromising the economic needs
