It has been suggested that Fe can be used as an internal flux monitor in neutron activation analysis of geological samples being analyzed for trace elements if the Fe content is known. Given that there are several stable isotopes of Fe, what would you use for this? Estimate a thermal neutron cross section and identify the gamma ray (or rays) you would use to measure the production of the desired product.
