The median weight of a particular species of adult female monkey in a certain locality A is 8.41 kg. A sample of adult females of the same species from a different locality B yielded the following weights in kg:
8.3 9.5 9.6 8.75 8.40 9.1 9.25 9.8 10.05 8.15 10 9.60 9.80 9.2 9.3
Can we conclude that the median weight of the population of
adult female monkey from locality B exceed that of locality A at
α=0.05 significance level? Use an appropriate exact non-parametric
test.
If you could state what type of test was used, that would be very
helpful as well. Thanks!
