Public surveillance cameras keep a video recording of the activities of the individuals at different public places, locations and other scenes of importance and continue reporting and forwarding the content to the respect police control room, security agencies  and or other government authorities. When finding anything of malicious nature, policing team or security people reach to the spot and prevent the  crime or control the situation. It causes control or reduce the crime rate. Further, the presence of public surveillance cameras work as deterrents, as people with evil intentions know that they are being watched, tracked or recorded and any wrongdoing can put them behind the bars. It makes many people to drop the idea of doing any crime or any social activities. It also leads to the decrease in crime rate.

Besides, criminal people behind the bars with the help of these cameras already spreads a message that anybody doing wrong will not be able to escape from the police or the justice system. It brings awareness and crime rate gets reduced. So, the presence of public surveillance cameras reduces crime rate in different ways.
