Total children = 14+11 = 25

Now, If the teacher selects a random sample of 3 children, and the first two children are boys and leave the classroom as soon as selected then we have :-

Total children left = 25 - 2 = 23

Number of boys left = 14 - 2 = 12

Number of girls left = 11

Probability that the third child selected will be a girl = (Number of girls left Total children left) = (11 23) = 0.4783

Answer: Probability that the third child selected will be a girl is or 0.4783

b)

Probability that the third child is a boy = (Number of boys left Total children left) = (12 23) = 0.5217

Answer: Probability that the third child is a boy is or 0.5217
