Hormonal control of menstrual cycle. Gonadotropin releasing hormone also called gonadotropin-releasing factor, is secreted by hypothalamus of the brain.which stimulate the release of follicle stimulating hormone and luteinising hormones (LH).FSH stimulates the ovarian follicles to produce oestrogen during proliferative stimulates the Corpus luteum of ovary to secrete progesterone.

Menstrual phase 1 to 5 days~Events

Endometrium size breakdown mensuration begins. The cell of endometrium secretions blood and unfertilized ovum constitutes the menstrual flow. Progesterone is reduced.

Follicular phase 6-13 days Events

Endometrium rebuilds, FSH secretions and oestrogen secretion increases.

Ovulatory phase about 14th day Events

Both LH and. FSH attend a peak level. Ovulation occur.

Luteal phase 15 -21 days Events

Corpus luteum secretes progesterone. Endometrium thickened and uterine glands become secretary.
