It is very much important to understand that the rail road industry has played a significant role in changing the pattern of global growth and prosperity in manifold ways since 19th century. It is one of the most preferred and a less costly interventions for passengers as well as to industrial suppliers .

In terms of heavy industry and capacity utilization, this industry serve like a panacea. Most of the successful business can't run or operate successfully if rail frieght will be breakdowns and cost may be increased. It is major player in the global logistics system.  

It is true that when a particular city of country gets connected with rail road then growth, development, employment and many new avenues come to that place. People may get better education, transportation services with ease, less costly transport services, and access to global markets. Access to global markets may have direct as well indirect channel. It will depend upon the nearby boundaries between two countries. For example, Many of the European markets are well connected through metro rail and other rail transport services.
