1) What are T-SNARES and V-SNARES?
2) Describe the roles of a signal sequence and of a stop-transfer sequence within a polypeptide.
1)SNARES are large protein complex consisting of at least 24 membranes in yeasts and more than 60 membranes in mammalian cells.
Vesicle Or v-SNARES are incorporated into the membrane of transport vesicles during budding. t-SNARES is associated with nerve terminal membrane.
2) signal sequences are situated on the N- terminus of some proteins and enable those proteins to find their correct location outside the cell membrane. It tags the protein for transportation through the cell membrane and out of the cell.
Stop - transfer sequence prevents translocation of protein into a transfer vesicle and permits it's insertion into a membrane.
