if the input signal is x(t)=exp[-at]u(t) and system impulse response is h(t)=u(t+2) what is the outpul signal y(t) ?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Here he gave signals in time domain ,so to get the output is the convolution of the two signals.ie y(t)=x(t)*y(t). But the convolution in time domain is same as multiplication in frequency domin. So for a simplicity we convert the given signals into laplace domin after the we will solve this problem.

Thank you.

A particular wave pulse is described by the function f(x,t) = (2/??) exp[-(x + ct)²]. Explain how to determine the velocity of the pulse and why that works. In particular, explain why the sign of c determines the direction of propagation. (In case you aren’t familiar, “expo” means “exponential” and exp(x) is often used instead of e? when the argument gets too big to fit comfortably as an exponent. Not that this question requires knowing any of this.)
