  1. Who really is to blame For the increase in obesity among US children?
  2. Under your current consumer protection laws, is fast food marketing aimed at children misleading?

Solutions

Expert Solution

1) The parents are to be blamed for the increase in obesity among US children because children develop their habits primarily from their parents. Children tend to eat what their parents eat, finds a new study that suggests a parental contribution to the growing obesity problem among young children and teenagers. Researchers found adolescents are more likely to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day if their parents do. So, if the parents don’t have a haealthy eating habit and a healthy lifestyle, then high chances are that the children won’t have either.

2) Yes, fast food marketing aimed at children misleading. They market the fast food as “healthy and tasty” but they are not at all healthy.
