In eurkaryote transcription, what is an exon and interon, and what is 5 capping and poly A tailing?
Exon - An exon is any part of a gene that will
encode a part of the final mature RNA.
Axon - An intron is any nucleotide sequence inside
a gene that is removed by RNA splicing during maturation of the
final RNA product.
The five-prime cap (5? cap) is
a specially amended nucleotide on the 5? end of some primary
transcripts such as precursor messenger RNA. This process, known as
mRNA capping, is highly regulated and vital in the
creation of stable and mature messenger RNA able to undergo
translation during protein synthesis.
The typical structure of a mature eukaryotic mRNA.
Polyadenylation is the addition of a
poly(A) tail to a messenger RNA
In eukaryotes, polyadenylation is part of the process that produces
mature messenger RNA (mRNA) for translation. It, therefore, forms
part of the larger process of gene expression of the proteins.
