Expert Solution

Phases in research cycle are as follows:

1. Exploration:

a. Reasearch Questions

b. Literature Review

c. Theory

The first phase of research is exploration . This phase includes exploring and selecting research questions for further investigation.

The first step in the exploration phase is identifying one or more research questions dealing with a specific behavior, event. Research questions are specific questions about a behavior, event, to seek answers for in the research.

It is related to innovation and creative styles like motivating consumers to buy the product.Examples include what factors motivate consumers to purchase goods and services online without knowing the vendors of these goods or services, how can we make high school students more creative, and why do some people commit terrorist acts. Research questions can be related into issues of what, why, how, when. Questions should be broadly focused towards research.

The next step is to conduct a literature review of the domain of interest.

The purpose of a literature review is:

(1) to survey the current state of knowledge in the area of inquiry,

(2) to identify key theories and findings in that area

(3) to identify gaps in knowledge in that research area.

The review can also provide some potential answers to the questions of interest and/or help identify theories that have previously been used to address similar questions.

The next step is theory testing where theories can be used as logical basis for research. Best suited theory should be carefully selected. These theories can help to address the desired research questions.

2. Research Design:

This process is concerned with creating a blueprint of the activities to take in order to satisfactorily answer the research questions identified in the exploration phase. This includes selecting a research method, operationalizing constructs of interest, and devising an appropriate sampling strategy. Operationalization is specifying exactly how exactly the desired construct will be measured. The research method is also decided to select the sample from population.

3. Preparation of research report:

This phase involves documentation of the entire reasearch conducted and recording the findings on a research paper. This report should reflect in detail all the choices made during the research process (e.g., theory used, constructs selected, measures used, research methods, sampling, etc. The report should be understandable. This is the most important phase because report will be of no use if not documented properly for future generations.
