Explain the types of departmentalization with example of company "Dawn Foods".
Departmentalization is a process of dividing the company in various departments to ease the process. It helps the employees to gain expertise in a particular skill set. The employees become experts in their tasks because they complete the same work daily. The team of the department focuses on a single operation or process and complete the related tasks with proper efficiency and effectiveness. Every company needs to departmentalize the operations to achieve planned and desired results. Hence, departmentalization helps companies to grow and develop. For instance, Dawn Foods is a bakery. It produces different types of baked food as it involves cakes, donuts, and frozen muffins. The company produces food more efficiently. The employees cook and manage the operations simultaneously. It is because the baking houses also have tons of processes to complete. The first department is purchase as the purchasing department brings the raw materials for cooking at a lower market price. The second department is production. This department produces and makes the baked products. The third department is sales as it takes care of selling the food to the target audience in the best possible manner. The last department provides services. It takes care of the seating of the employees and gives them the best service. Hence, all the departments work together efficiently to achieve the main aim and mission of the bakery.
