Abercrombie and Fitch is a clothing and sporting goods brand based in New York city. The brand offers a large variety of exotic apparel, outwear, fragrance and sporting accessories etc. The range includes casual shoes, running shoes, tennis shoes, t-shirts, polo shirts , and all other kinds of apparel and sports accessories.

The benefits of buying the products from Abercrombie and fitch are numerous as the brand always focuses on maintaining the quality of the products. Also, the brand’s only focus is not the outside look of the products but also they want them to be comfortable on the body to wear. The brand also takes its quality very seriously as if you don’t like the quality of the product you can return the products.

Abercrombie & Fitch has reached the maturity stage of its product life cycle. Many characteristics of the maturity stage conform to the marketing situation currently faced by the firm. Many specialty apparel retailers compete with A&F for market share, such as J. Crew, The Gap, American Eagle Outfitters. In addition, other teen-focused rivals like Aeropostale took market share from Abercrombie & Fitch during the recession. In order to gain back the market from its lower-priced competitors, Abercrombie & Fitch put its products on sale, which its CEO vowed to avoid for a long time (Boyle 2009). Intense competition and price promotions with an intent to grow market share shows that Abercrombie & Fitch is in the maturity stage of its product life cycle.
