a. Technology change today is affecting organisational culture as communication across different teams and departments have easier. Now teams can work together even if they are located far apart. There is growth of virtual teams. As a result, there is rise in virtual meetings than formal meetings. There is rise in informal communication as technology is used more for communication than personal communication. Opportunities to communicate with higher ups as increased as with help of technology accessibility has increased in the organisation.
b. Practical considerations that organisation should make to protect its interest are establishing clear guidelines for communication. The guidelines need to be explained to teams and employees. There should be clear norms for communication between different levels and teams. The organisation should ensure that proper record maintenance is done of the communication that happens virtual teams or meetings.
