Volkswagen scandal

1) Volkswagen is a very big brand in Germany which manufactures cars like Bentley, Porshe, lamborhini, Audi, Bugatti and Skoda. It is the world's largest manufacturer of cars in 2018. This led to the company to lose one-third of its market cap in 2018. The CEO and director of the firm resigned after receiving the statistics of the rate of emission of nitorgen dioxide in the air by the cars manufactured by this company.

2)A group of scientists from West Virginia university tested the efficiency of the catalytic converter and the efficiency of running of the diesel engines of these cars on road in 2018. These experiments were conducted by Arvind Thiruvengadam who is a research assistant professor in this university. The results revealed that the emissions of the gases were high as compared to the normal levels of emission of the particulate matter from various vehicles. The cars have software for analyzing the various conditions of running of vehicle. The International Council of Clean Transportation (ICCT), claimed that the results analyzed and conducted a various number of times includes the emission of higher yields of gases as compared to the claims of the company which revealed less emissions and less distance of running the vehicles. The environmental agency and California Agency declared that there is a chance of cheating as analyzed by the softwares installed in the cars.

3)This has led to the resigning of the director and CEO of Volkswagen organization in germany with suspension of many engineers who designed and installed the heavy diesel catalytic converters in the engine of the car.

4)The company has lost shares and USA has demanded apology and compensation with signing of bonds so that the claim can be received. This is not a good example of behavior as advertising is not the only mode of revealing the entire statistics details,of the manufaturing of the parts and designs of cars. It is under the priviledge and patent laws of the company and it can even start a court law suit of destroying the policies and marketing of cars in various countries. Volkswagen lost money in compensation due to this statistical software results analyzed by detector machines. This proved out to a negative trend in the company. Advertising details are superficial and the entire manufacturing details of the machines cannot be revealed.

5) It reveals negative attitude and behavior of people in the society at high competitive levels. The variation in the statistical results of the emission of gases from the engine of Volkswagen came as a tumultous surprise and agony for the research scientists working in the West Virginia University and the environmental agencies of USA. The power, efficiency and emission rates of gases was 40 times more as compared to the advertising statistical values as given by the Volkswagen company.

6)The issues can be improved by signing of bonds while providing work to engineers in the manufacturing industries so that if the manufcaturing design is not fit for implementation and is not according to the environmental standards then the compensation wages and terms should be decided by the company or if the company goes in debts and losses then the future of the working people should be appropriately decided. The reasons for the occurence of this situation should be analyzed with careful scrutiny of negligence of the employees working in the manufacturing industry.

7) In future the design and manufacturing of the cars by Volkswagen company should be carefully discussed with the Man Se firm which manufactures the truck engines and should be according to the environment friendly norms and regulations with limits of emission of the suspended particulate matter in the air.
