If you purchased “canned” software, but it must be modified to suit the needs of your company, who should do the modifications – your programmers or the vendor?
“Benchmarking” is recommended as a way of making a purchasing decision among several possible software products for your company. Define “benchmarking” in this context.
When a purchase is made of an item which includes technology, it is very certain that the vendor has to provide all the neccesary assistance to the buyer during the initial stages. Its because, a software is a kind of object which involves lot of technical complications, especially at the initial stages for a user. The situation for such assistance from the vendor will become mandatory , if the system is not designed or configured for a programmer to modify its system in a relevant way. If the system has a user friendly configuration, the assistance from the vendor won't be mandatory for this specific issue. But if the system has a complicated configuration such that a programmer cannot modify it in the relevant way then , the vendor must certainly provide such assistance.
Bench marking is a proces of setting a rank for each objects for a number of objectes which are connected to specific issue ,for the sake of comparison.In other words , bench marking is the process of setting a specific quality value for each object that are in concern for the sake of comparing their performance. Therefore bench marking helps to decide the quality level of one product over the other. So it is very relevant that the buyer must opt for bench marking method to analyze the usefulness of a product when compared with other for making best choise
