A muscle that moves jointed parts away from each other is what type? Give an example of this type of muscle.
Ans: In our body, there are three types of
muscles present ie, cardiac muscle, smooth muscle, and skeleton
muscle. Cardiac muscle and smooth muscle are the involuntary muscle
and it doesn't attached to the bone. Skeleton muscle is the
voluntary muscle which is attached to the bone and causes the
movement of the body. Smooth muscle present in the blood vessel
maintains the diameter of the vessel, gastrointestinal tract causes
the movement of food within the tract, in the urinary bladder to
pushing out the urine, regulates the airflow. Cardiac muscle
present in the heart by the contraction of muscle blood is pumped
throughout the body.
Skeleton muscle responsible for the movement of
jointed parts away from each other. It is present in the pair and
attached to either side of bone by the strong cord. This strong
cord is a hard or tough band of connective tissue which attached to
the muscles to a bone called Tendons. The contraction of the
skeleton muscle against the skeleton causes the movement of bone or
joints. During contraction, skeleton muscle becomes shorter, which
causes pulling of bone lead to movement of the body. Pair of
skeleton muscle work in opposite directions. These muscles show's
the only contraction and after contraction, muscles back to a
neutral position or relax position. Movement of each muscle in pair
in opposite directions causes contraction and bending of joints
known as a flexor. Movement of muscles for the straightening of
joints known as an extensor. During flexor or extensor, one muscles
contract and other muscles elongated in each pair of skeleton
muscle.
Examples: biceps and triceps muscle which work
opposite directions at the same time. Biceps muscles contract and
causes the bending of elbow and triceps muscle relaxed at the same
time, in this situation biceps muscles is flexor and triceps muscle
is an extensor.
The knee muscles quadriceps and hamstrings, they also work together
but in opposite directions. During bending of the knee, quadriceps
contract and act as flexor at the same time
Hamstrings muscles in relax condition which acts as an extensor. During straightening of leg hamstrings muscles contract and act as a flexor, and in same time quadriceps relax which act as an extensor.
