Q Match the following

Codon is genetic code in form of triplet of nucleotide. Codon are present on mRNA which bind to anticodon present on tRNA carrying amino acid coded by particular triplet codon. For example AUG codon code for methionine amino acid.

Amino acids are consist of C, H, O and N. Amino acid has amino group, a carboxyl group, a hydrogen and a R group which varies in different amino acids. Amino acids are linked by peptide bond to form proteins. So amino acids are known as building blocks of proteins.

Codominace is phenomenon in which two alleles of a trait doesnot show dominant recessive relation. So both alleles show their effect in heterozygous condition. M-N blood group in humans is example of codominace. As person with AB blood group both allele IA and IB are codominant.

Translation is the process in which protein is synthesized by ribosomes from mRNA sequence. Ribosomes perform the translation function.

Genetic disease carrier are formed in recessive diseases. In this a person carrying one copy of diseased gene and one normal copy which Means he is heterozygous for trait. He is not affected itself but can transmit this gene to his offsprings so carrier. For example in sickle cell anemia person carrying HbA and HbS genes are heterogeneous and carrier of disease as it has one diseased allele HbS and one normal HbA allele.

From above explanation the correct matches are as follow

Three nucleotide sequence-----------------codon

Building blocks of proteins--------------Amino acids

Blood types----------------------------co-dominance

Translation------------------------Ribosomes

Genetic disease carrier-----------Heterozygous
