present a position in agreement or disagreement with Edward Snowdon's decision to expose wrongdoing by the U.S. government.
I am in complete agreement of and support Edward’s Snowden’s decision to expose the U.S. government. Snowden, a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee, was responsible for leaking to the media details of extensive internet and phone surveillance by the National Security Agency (NSA). From his reports, it became apparent that phone calls, laptops, social media, applications, and messages were all being continuously monitored by the government, allowing them to build a detailed profile of any individual they desired. Many opined (and I agree to this as well) that this revelation was very close to the Orwell’s dystopia described in his book, 1984. I feel that this type of surveillance is a denial and violation of every citizen’s fundamental right to privacy. Thus, I support Snowden’s move to expose the government, as the citizens are at least to what extent their everyday lives are being spied upon by the government.
