For these purposes, management has decided to undertake a survey.

(a) Choose an appropriate sampling method and justify your choice.

(b) State the objectives of the proposed activity.

(c) Suggest an appropriate sample size.

Solutions

Expert Solution

(a) for the given problem we used Stratified sampling Method. In this method population is partitioned into subpopulation. Means we make partition of whole population into homogenous subgroups. Stratification gives smaller error in estimation and gives result with greater precision. As in our study problem we have given two part of population villages in East or villages in West canje. So that here we make two strata first each East canje and second strata is West Canje. After making two strata we taking sample from each stratum by method of simple random sampling or method of systematic sampling.for this study stratified random sampling is appropriate because due to stratification measurements becomes more easy. It is easy for analyze data. (b) objective of proposed activity is : (I) to find problems of residents regarding to quality of water using survey.and check that their claim is true or not. II) from questiinary find out responses of residents about quality of water (III) finding all information about complaints from responces of respondents using sampling procedure. (IV) finding limitations or drawback of service of water delivery and making analysis from taken sample data find solution for this problem. (V)Finding solution for this problem and try to improve quality of water and not get complaints from residents (C) for the given problen, we take sample using stratified sampling method and we take sample size using equal allocation. Means we take equal number of samples from both strata. Here from East canje we take 50 sample and from West Canje we take 50 sample. So for this study total sample of 100 should be taken. Appropriate sample size is 100.

As a city planner, you receive complaints from local residents about the safety of nearby roads and streets. One complaint concerns a stop sign at the corner of Pine Street and 1st Street. Residents complain that the speed limit in the area (55 mph) is too high to allow vehicles to stop in time. Under normal conditions this is not a problem, but when fog rolls in visibility can reduce to only 155 ft. Since fog is a common occurrence...

A CEO wondered if her company received either more or less complaints from its workers on Monday than any other day. In those complaints 13 were submitted on a Monday. The CEO conducts a one-proportion hypothesis test at the 5% significance level, to test whether the true proportion of...
