Federalist System Unitary System
This type of system has two levels of government ruling the same territory. This type of system has a central government which has the entire authority.
The State Government make their own decisions.

The central government make decisions for the state goverments.

A better system for democracy. A better system for autocracy.

With regards to democracy Federalist is a better system for the following reasons:

  • Every territory have different requirements. A central system might not be useful to meet up all the requirements.
  • As the responsibility is delegated, the democracy is enhanced.
  • The constitution in confided.
  • As in a democracy people have their representatives, so it becomes approachable to convey the people's requirements.
  • There are always two laws in a federal government in which every territory have their own laws, which enhances democracy by addressing different territory's cultures according to their believes.

The points mentioned above explains as to why a federal system is considered over a unitary system with respects to democracy.
