The Nation state is a system of organization in which people with a
common identity live inside a country with firm borders and a
single government , It is a system of political ,geographic and
cultural organization and the nation state is held together by its
physical boundaries , its government , and the fact that the people
believe they are connected to each other.
Three characterestic of a Nation state are :
a. Defined borders -Each country has a defined border of his
landmass .These borders may or may not be recognised by their
neighbours ,though they usually are. this does not stop neighbours
from coming and trying to extend their own borders .
b.Different ethnicity- Nation states have different ethnicities and
tribes inside their borders , their residents share a national
identity. This identity transcends tribal , ethnic and religious
affilations .
c.Governing authority - All states have some central goerning
authority .This authority creates and manages the economy ,the
currency , the laws and the state authorized agents of violence .
the form of government can vary ,as can its legitimacy with the
citizenry .
