Calculate the moles and grams of HCl present in the 6.0 mL of 6.0 M HCl solution you used
Molarity = Moles/Volume of solution in litres
Molarity of HCl = 6.0M (Given)
Volume of solution = 6.0mL or 0.006L (Given) ( 1L =1000mL)
Molarity of HCl = Moles of HCl/Volume of HCl solution in litres
(Molarity of HCl)*(Volume of HCl solution in litre) =Moles of HCl
(6.0)*(0.006) = 0.036 moles
Moles of HCl = 0.036
Molar mass of HCl = 1 + 35.5 = 36.5g/mol
Moles of HCl = 0.036 ( Calculated above)
Mole = Given mass/Molar mass
Moles of HCl = Given mass/Molar mass of HCl
0.036 = Given mass/36.5
0.036*36.6 = Given mass
1.314g = Given mass (Mass corresponding to 0.036 moles)
6.0mL of 6.0M HCl have 0.036 moles of HCl or 1.314g of HCl.
