For example, child labor, payment of bribes to government officials, and sex or race discrimination in hiring and promotion. Should U.S. corporations and their expatriate representatives refuse to engage in such practices even if doing so would put the firm at a competitive disadvantage?

Yes, U.S. corporations and their expatriate representatives refuse to engage in such practices even if doing so would put the firm at a competitive disadvantage. The modern world must see a complete change in the working environment where performance, qualifications, and practices should eb the parameters of hiring instead of bribery activities, racial discrimination, and gender discrimination. Importance of hiring people according to their capacities, skills, and experiences are as follows:

• It enhances organizational skill, and experiences

• It establishes the transparency of the company

• It creates a productive working culture in the organization

Moreover, the USA corporations must put a concerned look on child labor is considered as one of the most unethical, and brutal practices in every corner of the country. It must be stopped with highest priority. In fact, legal actions can be taken against the corporations that are continuing such practices

The corporations and expatriates should create two different parameters for competitive advantage; one is for making profit or gaining market share, and the other is for maintaining ethical standard in the corporations. Companies that would violate the ethical standard can be considered as unfit to compete in the market. Ethics, and profitability both should be the same line for both public sector, and private sector organizations.
