(a). Job Satisfaction - Job satisfaction or employee satisfaction is a measure of workers' contentedness with their job, whether or not they like the job or individual aspects or facets of jobs, such as the nature of work or supervision. Job satisfaction can be measured in cognitive, affective, and behavioral components.

(b). Few factors that affect Job Satisfaction other than salary, job security, and working conditions are:

  • Age - Older employees have higher job satisfaction than newer employees. It is because with longevity in employment comes many benefits. These are perks, acquaintance with work, career progression, better ranks, etc.
  • Leadership - Job Satisfaction for employees in a leadership position is usually high. It is because employees feel valued when they are allowed to show their leadership skills.
  • Responsibilities - Job roles wherein a higher degree of responsibility are involved adds to higher job satisfaction. Employees expect to feel valued and appreciated for the work done. When an employee gets an ample amount of responsibility, it shows the management’s trust in him/her.
  • Flexibility - A flexible work environment and working hours give the employees the gift of time. It paints a better employer’s image in the minds of the employees. This boosts job satisfaction.
  • Performance Management - To increase job satisfaction among the employees, the employer should not only promote their employees but should also do it at the right time.

(c) Job Performance - It assesses whether a person performs a job well. Job Performance studied academically as part of industrial and organizational psychology, also forms a part of human resources management. Performance is an important criterion for organizational outcomes and success.
