Compare the timing of the molecular divergence of the four mammalian superorders, and the timing of their anatomical divergence as seen in the fossil record
Class Mammalia is fascinated by its taxonomic diversity, ecology
and behavior. The four major categories of placental mammals are
Afrotheria (represented by elephant), Xenarthra (represented by
armadillo), Laurasiatheria (represented by cow), and
Euarchontoglires (represented by monkey). The basic goal of
mammalian palaeobiogeography is to reconstruct the basic history of
sequential events and dispersions that have made this difference.
The importance of reconstruction of the phylogeny, the
reconstruction of the ancestral area and the naming of cells to
produce ancestral times. The incorporation of morphological data
from fossils allows economically rich phylogenies, while also
providing key data points for taxonomic group discovery.Fossils are
also very difficult to establish with phylogenetic framework due to
lack of data (molecular), and the inability of current methods to
classify -Homology and Homoplasy with specific details of the
classification of physical symptoms.
Greater inventory of the details of larger molecules and taxis, new
discoveries of land use and the use of new techniques will lead to
major advances in our understanding of the history of mammalian
biogeography.
