9.gastroscopy and colonoscopy both are endoscopic procedure .gastroscopy is the examination of oesophagus and colonoscopy is the examination of large bowel.

Gastroscopy.

# Gastroscopy is an endoscopic procedure in this the medical professional looks at the lining of the oesophagus, stomach and the outlet of the stomach(duodenum).

# In this we are using an endoscope. Which is a long thin flexible tube .and at the tip of the tube there will a camera and light to view the lining of the organ.

# it is also known as upper gastro intestinal endoscopy.it is usually done if the patient has such symptoms like

* Heart burn  * abdominal pain * difficulty in * vomiting or bleeding from the digestive tract ,also confirming the diagnosis.

# some of the disease condition also can treat with gastroscopy like,

* polyps can be removed, * enlarged veins in the oesophagus acan be treated to stop or prevent bleeding * narrowed oesophagus can be widened*removal of swallowed objects accidentally.

# before the procedure the client need not to take the foods or fluids per mouth atleast 6 hours. And the procedure will take around 15 to 30 minutes. Noramally some pain killera or some sedation can be used in the procedure.

# The patient may get rarely sore throat or bleeding after the procedure as a side effect.

Colonoscopy

# colonoscopy is also an endoscopic procedure. In this the surgeon allowed to evaluate inside of the colon by the colonoscope. Which is a long flexible tube size of a finger with a camera and light at the tip.

# the tip of the colonoscope is inserted through the rectum and the colon. The procedure help to diagnose the colon cancer, blood in stool, abdominal pain, diarrhoea .

# patient must take any laxative before the procedure to clean the colon. During the procedure patients vital parameters do record.

# complications are very rare. Patient may have bleeding. An alternative to colonoscopy is virtual colonoscopy. Virtual colonoscopy is a technique that uses CT scanning to obtain images of the colon .
