A student watched picnickers with a large cooler of soft drinks to see whether teenagers were less likely than adults to choose diet soft drinks over regular soft drinks.
Number of teenagers who chose regular soft drinks from large cooler are explanatory variable and the number of adults who preferred and chose diet soft drinks are response variable. Based on this data for say with every one or two hours interval, one can check whether there is any association between these two group of picnickers for their respective choice of soft drinks using simple regression analysis.
