Freud developed the psychodynamic theory that states our experiences stem from the past childhood experiences.A series of prepostions on origins of many personality,social dispositions on childhood ,unconscious cognitive,affective,motivtional processes where research has been done in cognitive,social personality and developmental psychology supports these prepositions.Today most psychotherapists and psychodynamists help people with their present day problems and how they can overcome it with change in their thinking patterns.It is true that some of our childhood trauma's affect have lifelong emotional consequences,present psychoanalysts approach the problem in a more realistic way as to how to cope with the problems rather than our childhood experience.Humans have number of motives which could relate to the culture and experiences.where as freud emphasized on pursuit of sensual and sexual pleasure.Cognititve psychologists are paying greater attention to perception,memory and thinking which is leading to focus and motivation.Psychoanalysts and psychotherapists no longer talk about id and ego in the treatment of psychological disorders keeping only the past experiences in mind.
