If all 5' and 3' splice sites were always used to process the pre-mRNA into mRNA, how many possible distinct mRNA sequences would result from this processing?
Splicing can remove both the introns A and B and ligate the exons to give Exon 1- Exon 2- Exon 3.Alternate splicing can occur where one intron i,e Intron A would remain intact while the other intron i.e Intron B would be removed to give Exon 1-Intron A -Exon2-Exon 3.
After two successful splicings, the pre-mRNA gives 1 mature mRNA
