Diagonal communication is an even more recent emphasis in the organizational communication literature , Ensuring that supervisors are informed about organizational issues, changes before staff in general, and then allowing them to communicate these issues or changes to their staff, helps reinforce their position of power. Diagonal comunication is very much important in the health department and alsonin the medical field. It is the communication between the employers or the health care personnel which facilitate the smooth functioning of the hospital. In diagonal communication there is communication between the different departments and different sectors. The communication between different sectors helps in effective functioning of the hospital . Diagonal communication on the other hand refers to the communication between the managers and workers in the organization. In a hospital or in the medical field diagonam communication is widely used to communicate between the administrators and the workers or the health care personnel. It is sharing of information among different structural levels. Diagonal communication is used in hospital department because it can maximize the efficiency of information exchange. Through diagonal communication it is easy to share information directly between groups which are functionally entirely different.
