  1. Many scientists/experts argue that we are quickly approaching the “post-antibiotic” era (in which we have few to no antibiotics left to use because resistance has become widespread). Take a minute to think about the implications of this (in daily life, in medicine, etc.), using the descriptions of the pre-antibiotic era as a reference. What aspect of modern life do you think a lack of antibiotics would have the greatest impact on?
  2. Do you feel like machine learning holds the key to solving the problem of antibiotic resistance or do we need to explore other alternatives such as phage therapy, antibodies, etc.?

Expert Solution

No, this is not totally correct. It is true that we are witnessing a widespread antibiotic resistance but newer and more efficient antibiotics are being develped too with the passage of time which acts against maximum starins of resistant bacteria too. Current scenario is a cause of concern but it is too early to say that we are moving toward post antibiotic era.in case we go into a post antibiotic era where there is no antibiotic effective against bacteria then we will observe severe complications and great mortality in bacterial infections.things will be somewhat similiar to pre antibiotic era but we will be equipped with other effective mean of treatment that were not availiable in pre anti biotic era.

I think we will continue to rely on antibiotics to fight against bacterias and oathogen but we should explore newer treatment options like phage thwrapy and antibodies.

Hope this helps. All the best ?

An aircraft we will call the "receiver" is approaching a second aircraft in mid-air, which we will call the "tanker", for refueling. The receiver is following the same path as that of the tanker. The tanker is moving at a constant velocity of 500 feet per second, with its position at time t minutes given by s[t]=500t. At time t = 0 seconds, the receiver is 2000 feet behind the tanker and has velocity 1000 feet per second. At this...

Some people argue that with the limited money we have available, we should NOT fund pure research projects in physics like exploring the properties of ‘dark matter’ and determining whether it exists.
