ANSWER 1:
The film Kahaani broke away the general stereotype of the Indian cinema. This movie showed a pregnant female in the lead role who wants to find her husband. Such was the powerful female character, well appreciated after the release of the movie which increased the demand for more of such movies female-centric movies. This shows the changing and progressing women in the Indian society. The female is no longer a weak character. With this increasing demand, more of the movies with the female in lead role saw the release of movies like Mardaani, NH10, Queen, Neeraja, Mary Kom, Barfi etc. The actresses are nowadays demanding more pay than the actors.
ANSWER 2:
Durga Puja portrays the empowered women worshiping the powerful Goddess Durga. The women dance and play with sindoor. It signifies the importance that the Indian women hold in the society. Young females and their womanhood are worshiped in the form of a goddess. In the movie Kahaani, the female protagonist who is an embodiment of power is shown to achieve her goal with the backdrop of the story being held during the Durga puja on the streets of Kolkata. This concept is at par with the fact that the goddess Durga wins over all demons to save the mankind. She is not submissive in the same manner as the Indian powerful women are not submissive to their male counterparts.
