From the Chiquita’s story it was found that past leadership style is transactional model. This mode l focuses on monitor, control and validate the performance. Transactional leadership encourages both rewards and punishment .Also this kind of leadership will not look for the change in future. Chiquita’s present leadership style is transformational, more value based and social responsibility adhered with ethics. Present leadership style is globally focused with future orientation.
In transformational leadership model, leader used to work with teams and also he used to locate the need for change .This leadership model encourages ethics, morale, and high performance. This leadership style acts as role model to their followers. A transformational leader has the ability to adapt to any kind of situation.
Effective leadership is important for profit and service based organization. If organization leadership lacks in motivation, mentoring, training then organization morale, working environments will get suffer. Poor leadership will have a bad hit on profit and also it used to create negative effects between the employee and leader.
