The nursing interventions  which are performed during
vaginal delivery are as follows
- Encourage the mother to empty the bladder and administer enema
as per order to empty bowel
 
- Then place the client in a comfortable position generally
recumbent or supine position with slight head elevation or in the
comfortable position as the mother prefers
 
- Meanwhile provide psychological support and positive
reassurance
 
- Monitor the fetal heart rate .Attach the electronic fetal
monitoring and assess the fetal status
 
- Perform vaginal examination to assess the cervical dilation and
effacement
 
- Induction can be started as per order by starting pitocin
 
- After regular contractions ,encourage mother to do pushing and
support her
 
- Once the crowning is about to happen perform episiotomy
 
- Assist in birth of the baby
 
- Clamp the umbilical cord and make a sterile cut to separate
baby
 
- Deliver the placenta in next 10-15minutes
 
- Perform vag-inal examination
 
- Suture the episiotomy site
 
- Clean the mother and perform hygienic care
 
- Shift the mother to unit
