what does working distance mean on microscopic

Solutions

Expert Solution

The distance between the front edge of the objective lens and the cover slip(thin glass plate to cover the specimen mounted on the slide) is known as working distance of the microscope.

As the magnification or the numerical aperture is increased, the working distance decreases.

Therefore, working distance is indirectly proportional to magnification.

The true, unobserved population mean commute distance among all urban planners working in the Melbourne Metropolitan Area (μ) is 22km, with σ=15. You conduct a survey of 144 planners and find that the sample means commute distance (X-bar) is 25km (12 points). Describe two possible sources of bias that could have produced this high estimate?
