A 64 yr old man comes to the emergency department with
acute chest pain. He is holding his chest with his fist directly
over his sternum. He is diaphoretic. He is in work clothes and has
been mowing the lawn. It is 98F outside.
What nursing actions would be appropriate immediately?
Immediate nursing actions:-
a)Firstly nursing approach should be perfect.she has to put all her skills properly.
b) Nurse have to take the response to decrease the tension of patient ,making them to be calm/stabilize to control the situation and his sweating.
c) check for the airway,breathing, circuation
d) Immediately check for vital signs such as respiratory rate,pulse rate and check for the blood pressure and have to monitor the cardio vascular system.
e)Ask about brief history of location, intensity and duration of chest pain.
f)Blood investigations of troponoin and ck-mb,ECG,portable chest x-ray can be done,these all are help in the diagnosis of the condition.
g)Acetyl salicylate (aspirin) shouble be given to control the pain it is given based on patients condition.
Conclusion:-
The nurses ultimate aim for these all immediate nursing actions,is to manage and stabilize the patient and for proper care of patient and to prevent complications and she has to take responsibility for prevention of worsening of condition of patient.
