. Pheripheral artery disease limits the flow of oxygen rich blood to the various parts of body.Based on the history and complaints ,in this case ,mainly the areteries of left leg is being affected .

Nursing diagnoses

1) Activity intolerance related to impaired blood flow to lower extermities

2) Risk for infection related to impaired skin integrity

3) Poor health maintenance related to smoking

4) pain

Nursig Interventions

1) Place the legs in adependent position in relation to heart ,to improve circulation.Avoid raising of feet above the heart level

2) Provide skin and foot care to control infection , take measures to prevent injury

3) Educate the patient about the effect of smoking in blood vessels ,and help him to identify smoking cessation methodes such as nicotine patches

4) positioning and administration of medications

Patient interventions

1) Timely intake of medicine as per doctor's order

2) Exercise (walking) to improve mobility as well as blood circulation

3) Adopt smoking cesation strategies like nicotine patches,

4) Understanding of foot care measures .and adhere to medical advise related to health practices
