One of the most common disorder in pediatric patient is - Bronchial Asthma..
Bronchodilators (Sympathomimetics) like- Salbutamol is used in the case od treatment of Bronchial Asthma..
Salbutamol --
Group- Bronchodilators..
Mechanism of Action-
Drug enters into the body
Stimule Beta 2 receptors in the area of Bronchial smooth muscles
& mast cells.
Produce therapeutic effect..
Inhibit the release of histamine,SRS-A from the mast cells..
Bronchodilatation occurs..
Side effects --
CNS- Headache,tremors,
Dizziness, convulsion etc.
GI- Nausea,vomiting, gastritis etc.
CVS- Hypotension,Tachycardia,severe palpitation etc.
Drug drug interaction --
Salbutamol & ambroxol-- there is no relevant drug drug interaction among these drugs..
No other drug interaction is present with the use of sulbutamol..
Drug Food Interaction-
Calcium rich food, Alcohol should be avoided in the duration of
Sulbutamol.drug therapy..
Because- by the useing of these kind of food the action of the drug
can be minimised..
Allergic food should be avoid..Because- they can increase the worse effect of the disease..
Health Teaching --
Instruct the patient to continue the drug at the correct time & correct Dose..
Alcohol & the habit of smoking should be avoided..
Any hazardous activity should be avoided..
Always maintain a comfortable possition..
If any side effects occour then inform the Doctor..
Stress should be avoided as much as possible..
Any type of allergic food should be avoided..
